Sometimes you have to take a break from shooting things. I mean, we all appreciate an adrenaline-pumping shooter but every once in a while, you just want to chill out. That’s why its so important that games like Luna’s Wandering Stars by Serenity Forge exist; we need a break from the mayhem. Oh, and it just might teach you a thing or two about physics! In a nutshell, you use various abilities to thrust a moon around planetary objects collecting asteroids. As you collect asteroids, you gain mass, and as such your interaction with the things around you changes. While you can complete the level by collecting the blue asteroids, you master a level by collecting all of the golden asteroids. If you follow our livestreams (which you should!), you would know that I have been playing Luna’s Wandering Stars quite a bit lately. In fact, I’ve been playing it exactly as I described above. I would stream Loadout or some other relatively intense game, and then crave the relaxing calm of this puzzle game set in the vastness of our solar system. I’ve only played for an hour or two so far, but from what I’ve seen already, the game has promise. There’s nothing like drifting through the rings of Saturn. There’s something to be said about a game that challenges you intellectually while at the same time letting the stress of daily life just roll off your back. There’s no stress here, just relaxing fun. Don’t misinterpret what I’m saying as to suggest that that the game is a cakewalk. That’s not the case at all. While the puzzles might be easy to quickly solve on occassion, mastering each level by collecting all of the ‘golden’ asteroids The puzzles are varied and interesting, and provide players with fun challnages. Furthermore, each planet appears to bring a new gameplay mechanic to the table, which is awesome. With its melodic soundtrack and beautiful graphics, Luna’s Wandering Stars definitely lures you into it’s puzzles. I don’t always get perfect, but when I do, I take a screenshot of it. Luna’s Wandering Stars is currently on Greenlight, so head on over and give it a thumbs up!
