Muffin Knight by Angry Mob Games is a casual action platformer that is a great fast-paced game for those looking for a fun quick-fix.

Muffin Knight is an interesting run, jump and fight game with a bit of a twist. You start with 4 characters unlocked and as you collect tasty looking muffins, you unlock new characters to play with. Now the twist is that every time you collect a muffin, you change into a random character that you have unlocked. Each character has a unique attack that helps you fend off the wild life that tramples past you on your quest for more muffins. The enemies spawn randomly and the pace seems to pick up as you collect more muffins in any given level. Try to collect as many as you can before being trampled! How have I not yet mentioned that you can also level up your characters? Muffins are worth the bulk of experience points, but killing critters also nets you a small amount of XP. When you level up, you get skill points to spend on either your characters or your special abilities.

Once you have completed all the levels and unlocked everything it’s over right? Wrong. You can play head to head or co-op with other people across different platforms. That’s right, you can play from your PC with someone on their phone! That’s pretty awesome. So you could be at home and your friend could be on the train coming home from work and you could play a game together to pass the time. In versus mode, it’s a dash to collect the most muffins you can before you both die. In co-op mode, you have uniquely coloured muffins and if your partner dies you can just pick up their muffin to bring him back to life. Muffin Knight’s cross-platform play makes it a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy a fun casual game with friends, wherever they might be.
